About Me

Originally from the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains of New York, I grew up appreciating the natural beauty that can be found off the beaten track. My passion for the outdoors combined with my interest in science in the form of a degree in Geology from Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute. From there I went on to earn my Ph.D. in Geochemistry at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In 2016 I made the move to Maryland to pursue research at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center searching for signs of past life on Mars.

I was accompanied along this journey by my wife Christina. Always supporting the pursuit of my interests she purchased my first DSLR camera when I finished graduate school. Soon after I began to pursue photography seriously and found that my scientific attention to detail translated perfectly to the application of portraiture both in studio and out in nature.
